MASS. SENDING MEDICAL, EMERGENCY OPS TEAMS TO FLORIDA

Massachusetts is sending a medical team and a three-person emergency operations team to Florida to assist with Hurricane Irma response and recovery.

As Irma belted Florida on Sunday, Gov. Charlie Baker announced he'd authorized 12 people to go in response to a request from Florida under an interstate mutual aid agreement among all 50 states that enables governors to request disaster assistance from other states before, during or after a disaster.
