UNEASY PARTNERSHIPS KEEP BREWERS, DISTRIBUTORS AT ODDS
[Story Developing] On behalf of the brewers they have partnered with, beer distributors "fight for shelf space, draft handles, displays and cooler placement," Mark Tatleman, an executive vice president at Merrimack Valley Distributing Company, told lawmakers Tuesday.
Brewers are once again pushing for greater freedom to break their bonds with the companies that bring their products to market, but Tatleman and other beer distributors warned the Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure from giving the beer-makers too much leeway.
