BAKER SEEKING $200 MILLION IN CHAPTER 90 ROAD $$$

For the third year in a row, Gov. Charlie Baker will seek $200 million for the local road and bridge repair program known as Chapter 90, despite calls from local officials for the administration and the Legislature to increase the funding.

The governor announced Thursday that he would file legislation seeking $200 million for Chapter 90, $30 million for MassDOT to purchase accessible vehicles on behalf of local agencies and non-profits that transport seniors and the disabled, and $70 million for IT upgrades at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
