AT 2.8 PERCENT, INFLATION LOCALLY EXCEEDING NATIONAL RATE
A common measurement of inflation shows prices are rising faster in the Boston area than nationally.
The Consumer Price Index in the Boston metropolitan area rose 2.8 percent in Boston over the last 12 months, higher than the 2.1 percent increase nationally, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday.
