SPRINGFIELD RAIDS NET 6 KILOS OF HEROIN, 10 ARRESTS

Local, state and federal law enforcement will brief the public Tuesday afternoon after a series of simultaneous raids in Hampden County disrupted a "high level heroin trafficking organization" in the Springfield area.

Authorities executed multiple search warrants at a number of residences in Springfield simultaneously at about 6:30 a.m. Monday, the Hampden County district attorney's office said, and the raids led to the arrests of 10 people, the seizure of six kilos of heroin, 4,500 ready-for-sale bags of heroin, six firearms, and four motor vehicles.
