CRASH HIGHLIGHTS IGNITION INTERLOCK NEED, ACTIVISTS SAY
Supporters of legislation requiring ignition interlock devices be installed in the cars of all drunken driving offenders say a weekend crash that injured a pre-teen pedestrian illustrates a need to pass the bill.
State and Boston police on Saturday afternoon arrested 78-year-old Richard Higgins of Attleboro for his third offense of operating under the influence after he allegedly hit the 12-year-old girl with his Ford Explorer, authorities said.
