CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENT THOMAS HUDNER, AT 93
State officials on Monday mourned the death of Thomas Hudner, 93, a Navy captain, Korean War veteran, and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient who also served as state commissioner of veterans services.
“Few possess the bravery, determination and character that Captain Hudner displayed throughout his lifetime. From putting his own life on the line to serve our country, to carrying out a stunning mission in an attempt to rescue his fellow Navy Pilot, Captain Hudner embodied service to country and neighbor," said Gov. Charlie Baker.
