WORKER SHORTAGE CONCERNS REFLECTED IN BIZ INDEX
A shortage of qualified workers is beginning to affect businesses in Massachusetts and their confidence in the state's economy took a tiny hit last month because of it, the Associated Industries of Massachusetts reported Tuesday.
AIM's Business Confidence Index dropped 0.1 points to 62.5 from its year-to-date high in November. The index stands 4.5 points higher than in November 2016, but analysts worry Massachusetts could be "suffering from too much of a good thing" with an unemployment rate below 4 percent.
