COUNCIL OKAYS PARDONS FOR FORMER GANG MEMBER, BURGLAR

The Governor's Council on Friday signed off on pardons recommended by Gov. Deval Patrick for a former gang member and a former burglar. Councilors voted 5-3 to approve the pardon for Thomas Schoolcraft, who is eyeing a criminal justice career after robbing homes in Massachusetts and New Hampshire in 2004, when he was an 18-year-old high school dropout.
