STATE PENSION FUND SQUEAKED OUT 2.3 PERCENT GAIN IN FY 2016

The $60.6 billion state pension fund exceeded its modest benchmark in fiscal 2016, achieving a 2.3 percent return on investment, according to newly released data. But the Pensions Reserves Investment Trust, which finances public employee retirement benefits, actually slipped in value from fiscal 2015 to 2016, according to pension fund management.
