An era of turmoil and turnover in the state Senate has coincided with a period of historic consistency in the House, where Rep. Robert DeLeo on Saturday becomes the longest continuously-serving speaker in state history. The 14-term Winthrop Democrat will KO a record held since 1985 by the late Lynn Democrat Thomas McGee, father of current Lynn Mayor Thomas McGee.
