SAFETY CONCERNS SPUR MBTA TO FORM REVIEW PANEL

With the cause of a June 11 Red Line derailment still a mystery and as customers question the safety of the trains they rely on, the MBTA's oversight board on Monday announced the formation of a panel that includes a former U.S. transportation secretary to review MBTA safety practices and incidents.
