NEWLY-MINTED LAW: Gov. Charlie Baker and Rep. Paul Donato reacted to a joke from Speaker Robert DeLeo on Wednesday at the signing ceremony for the state's new vaping and flavored tobacco law, which institutes a new tax on vape products and a ban on flavored nicotine items, including mint and menthol flavors. As menus were being prepared and groceries procured for feasts of turkey, cranberries and pumpkin pie, Gov. Charlie Baker served up a three-course meal of his own during this holiday week, with plenty of time in between plates to digest.
