Auditor: Rethink Reliance on Boards, Limit Holdovers

A day after the Legislature held a hearing on a bill that would task the state auditor with examining the worthiness of hundreds of state commissions, Auditor Suzanne Bump released a report Thursday that found Gov. Charlie Baker's office relies heavily on the practice of letting board and commission members serve long after their terms have expired.
