GUV: IT'S OKAY TO NOT GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT

STATE HOUSE, BOSTON, AUG. 28, 2015.....In his first months in the corner office, Gov. Charlie Baker has shown his proclivity to address issues by gathering facts, forming task forces and seeking outside advice. On Friday, he shed a bit of light on his governing philosophy with a group preparing to tackle a weighty issue of its own.
"We live in a democracy, which is a really great thing. But one of the things that comes with being part of a democracy is you don't necessarily always get what you want," he said. "So one of the things you have to learn in any public endeavor, in any democratic activity, is that it's okay to not get everything you want and to recognize and be able to appreciate when a sub-optimal solution with respect to what you want can be a more optimal solution for everybody."
