FORMER REVERE MAYOR WILL RUN FOR SENATE

STATE HOUSE, BOSTON, JAN. 19, 2016....Former Revere Mayor Dan Rizzo plans to seek the Senate seat opening up after Sen. Anthony Petruccelli's resignation takes effect Thursday.

Rizzo, who lost his re-election bid last November after four years as mayor, announced his candidacy on Tuesday, touting a reduction in crime and two consecutive budget awards during his time as mayor.
