SUFFOLK DOWNS GETS $800K IN CONNECTION WITH TWO-DAY RACE SCHEDULE

BOSTON, AUG. 10, 2017.....The Massachusetts Gaming Commission on Thursday approved two additional days of live Thoroughbred racing at Suffolk Downs this year and agreed to put $800,000 towards purses for those races.

The commission's unanimous approval Thursday of live racing on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 means the East Boston track, will host a total of eight racing days in 2017, the most since the track ceased regular racing in 2014.
