WINTHROP SEN. BONCORE WEIGHING RUN FOR SUFFOLK DISTRICT ATTORNEY

STATE HOUSE, BOSTON, MARCH 29, 2018....Sen. Joseph Boncore of Winthrop is seriously considering giving up his Senate seat after just one full term to run for the open district attorney's office in Suffolk County, the Winthrop Democrat told the News Service on Thursday.
Boncore, a 35-year-old former public defender, said he believes he would bring the requisite experience and a unique perspective as a defense attorney to a race that already features five Democrats, including former prosecutor and fellow legislator Rep. Evandro Carvalho of Dorchester.
